The Friends of the Copper Queen Library is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 organization that supports the library by purchasing library materials and sponsoring activities and events, which include, but not limited to:

  • Preschool Story Hour, every Friday morning at 10:30
  • Summer Reading Program, Wednesday mornings in June and July
  • Arizona Humanities' Lecture and Travelling Road Scholar Series
  • Feature Films and Documentaries with Discussion at the Bisbee Royale every second Tuesday of the month
  • Freewrite, which is in its eighth year

Chocolate Tasting

Bisbee's commercial and home bakers donate 1000's of pieces of chocolate delicacies for ticket holders at this ever popular event, now in it's 27th year.  Guests also have the chance to participate in a Silent Auction and throw their names into a Raffle, as well.  Check out the Bisbee Chocolate Tasting website here.

Altered Books Show and Silent Auction

Now in its eighth year, this Silent Auction showcases the creative spirit of artists from around the area who transform books into beautiful works of art.  From wall hangings to sculpture, this show always seems to amaze.  Check out the Altered Books facebook page here.

Friends' Bookstore

The Friends also operate the Friends' Bookstore, located on the first floor of the Library Building.  Used books, DVDs, CDs, and gift items are available for purchase.  Donations to the bookstore are always welcome!
