From trees to treats, we will discuss the history and benefits of mesquite; how to harvest the beans and how to prepare and store them for milling into flour. We will also discuss the milling process and how to use and store the mesquite flour.

Sloane Bouchever was born in New York City in 1958 and began painting in oils at the age of 13. He started life drawing classes at 14, and went on to receive his BFA in studio art from Trinity College in 1981 where he studied under "Color Field" painter George Chaplin, a disciple of Josef Albers. Bouchever's work is featured in numerous collections throughout the U.S. and Europe and he participated in multiple solo shows and group exhibitions over the past 40 years. He resides in Bisbee.

Learn about the "discovery" of Yellowstone National Park and the scientific reconnaissance escorted by an army detail under the command of Lt. Gustavus C. Doane of the Second Cavalry in 1870. This presentation will be facilitated by Bisbee local Kim Scott who worked as University Archivist for the Montana State University Library in Bozeman.
