In 2016, Acacia Simone Barnett founded the Girls Confidence Camp. Since then, the Camp has seen a 200% increase in attendance. Girls Confidence Camp is an exceptional opportunity for the girls and young women of Southern Arizona. As the Camp enters its tenth year, Acacia continues to show her outpouring of love and dedication—along with extensive planning—to make an impactful difference in these children’s lives.
CQ Library Annex
Join the Copper Queen Library Annex every Wednesday morning from 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM for our Classic Story Time. This program is open to all families and their children between the ages of 0 - 5. Come read stories and sing songs with us!

The Copper Queen Library's Open Art Studio is a free program held at the CQL Annex on the first and third Fridays of the month, where participants of all ages and abilities can use provided art supplies to create their own art, reducing stress and promoting creativity. The program offers a variety of materials, including watercolors, acrylics, oil pastels, chalk pastels, pencils, and jelly gouache, and is made possible through grants from organizations like the Artemizia Foundation.

Facilitated by Cochise Chess, Chess Club is open to patrons of ALL ages and abilities and helps players develop creativity, problem-solving skills and confidence. Cochise Chess is the only bilingual chess program in the United States that serves a whole rural county. They are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that brings the game of chess to communities in Cochise County, Arizona with an emphasis on public libraries and schools in both English and Spanish.
