The Copper Queen Library was awarded the EBSCO Excellence in Rural Library Service Award last month by the Public Library Association of America. The national award, which is co-sponsored by EBSCO Information Services, provides recognition and an honorarium to a public library that demonstrates excellence of service to its community as exemplified by an overall service program or a special program of significant accomplishment.
The Library received the award for its commitment to service and its innovative programs including the Internet Hotspot Lending Program (LiFi), the Seed Library, and the San Jose Annex which offers full library services and a community space in the San Jose Neighborhood.
The award will be presented at the Public Library Association’s President’s Program at the American Library Association Annual Conference and Exhibition in June in Washington D.C.
