Each year the Community Development Department challenges itself to improve services, expand opportunities and respond to the changing needs of the Bisbee community. The Community Development Department not only meets these goals, but welcomes the unforeseen issues that require flexibility, creativity and dedication to address and solve. Worth noting are the number of ways that this department has partnered with other City departments on a variety of projects.

In 2024 a grant was issued through the State of Arizona Housing Trust Fund, for Cities that had not previously done an action plan for affordable housing.  The City of Bisbee was successful and was awarded $125.000. To do an affordable housing plan specifically for The City of Bisbee.  This is an action plan for preserving and enhancing Housing opportunities in our community.  We, the City worked directly with the consultants to ensure all the needs of our community be heard and addressed.  The public participation piece of this report was very successful, We heard from you !  

As you page through this report you will note the data as it directly relates to our community . We also have begun implementing some of these recommendations in a effort to provide more housing for the people who live and work here in Bisbee.
