Submissions can be poetry, fiction, non-fiction, memoir, ruminations and reflections, or art and photography; all forms of expression documenting how we cope, survive, and live as our lives change. Something Different For Awhile submitted by Tracey Rocco

My sweetheart and I are kind of retired from civil service and education careers. We have worked on personal creative projects at home for several years. I'm writing my third novel and my sweetheart is composing instrumental music. I take breaks from writing by working on personal art projects. My current collage project is titled, A Woman's Closet.

With the exception of traveling out of state, the recent restrictions on public gatherings, restaurants and similar pastimes have not hindered us very much. We have cancelled several trips but we feel lucky to have a roof over our heads, food and a comfortable place to live and create. We know many folks are having a difficult time and we reach out daily to help our friends and family however we can.

C. S. Lewis said, "We read to know we are not alone." This quote is perfect for me, especially right now. I miss seeing my family and friends. I really miss the Copper Queen Library and all of the people and happenings there! When I read, I feel connected to the writer's world. I think that it is also why I write novels. I hope that when folks read my novels, they also feel the part of me that wants to connect with them as well.

When I was growing up in the inner-city of Detroit, the public library was my way out of the grim reality of daily life there. In hindsight, the public library gave me a glimpse of what was possible with education and hard work.

So far, my extended family is getting through this time okay however, things can change rapidly and therefore I feel blessed to have another day on this Earth, especially living in such a pretty place as Bisbee.

We watch hiking videos uploaded by a man named, Joey Coconato on a YouTube channel titled, My Own Frontier. It makes us feel a part of his world hiking and camping in some very remote areas of the world. He does an excellent job on his videos.

Thank you to Jason, Alison, Demaris, Kathy, James and all of the staff and volunteers at our Copper Queen Library. You are the power on which the library runs. We are lucky-ducks to have you in our world of Bisbee.

Regardless of our different belief systems, I think this time of uncertainty shall pass and some things will return to what they were, some things will improve, and if we share our thoughts, kindness and help each other, we'll always be together in our hearts.

Happy Trails!
